Due to popular demand, Dorieke Schreurs is also offering a workshope on the traditional preparation of a surface and the making of a traditional Gesso surface.

In this masterclass you will learn everything about different surfaces on which you can paint. You start by stretching a small canvas. Then traditional (animal) glue is made to seal the canvas. While this dries, we will continue with the traditional recipe of a Gesso surface. We then place this gesso surface on the stretched and pre-glued canvas.

You go home with a traditionally prepared canvas, ready to paint on and with the knowledge to continue preparing your own surfaces at home.
