In this workshop by chef Marente van der Valk you will learn how to make various breads & homemade herb butters; We make white bread, the principles of sourdough, multigrain and raisin bread and make our own herbs & wild flower butter to go with it!
All ingredients are included in the price and we will make enough so that everyone can take something home afterwards!
Marente van der Valk is a culinary artist and chef from the UK/NL. She graduated from an MA Design & Environment at Goldsmiths’ University of London in 2012. Marente currently coordinates the Food Lab at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht (NL). The Food Lab was created to offer a multidisciplinary platform to chefs and artists with an interest in food. The elements that are central to Marente’s work are seasonal and organic products from local growers and producers who invest their time to make agriculture more sustainable. In addition, a love for new experimental approaches to traditional cooking methods and a love for nature and increasing her knowledge about wild picking form the basis to strengthen and influence new and exciting recipes.
