SUMMER MASTERCLASSES 2: Workshop pigment making with natural materials

Event Date:

July 31, 2021

Event Time:

1:00 pm

Event Location:

Campus Heerdeberg

Especially for this summer period, Dorieke Schreurs, as an introduction to D’O studio-gallery and Campus Heerdeberg, has developed a program of 4 masterclasses on art, nature and sustainability. Get to know her unique expertise on local geology, natural pigments, paint making and painting with this natural paint.

These Masterclasses can be followed separately, or as a strengthening addition to each other in a cycle.

The masterclasses are in line with Dorieke’s work as a creator and researcher, focusing on the relationship between man and nature, sustainable material development and cradle-to-cradle work.

Masterclass 2:  Workshop pigment making with natural materials.

During this workshop you will learn everything about the raw materials that form the basis for natural pigments. You’ll learn everything about pigments, the basis of color in all paints. You will get information about the difference between pigment and dye, inorganic and organic pigments and you will get started with the process of making pigment from raw materials yourself. At the end of the workshop you will go home with the pigments you produce.

Further essentials: Make sure you wear clothing that may get dirty.

Each masterclass has a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 15.

Landgoed Heerdeberg has enough space to observe social disrancing and we will observe all current COVID-19 regulations.
